What is a CEU?
The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a measure of time dedicated to learning. Education and training experiences carry different amounts of CEUs depending on the time and intensity required. Typically 10 hours of education/training is equal to 1 CEU. CEUs are sometimes required by employers and licensing organizations as a measure of legitimacy and/or an easily counted measure of continuous education. Various professions now require a certain number of CEUs or similar Continuing Professional Education requirements each year to retain certification or licensure.
